MG Windsor Covers 3,757 kms – Leh to Kanyakumari in 83 hours

Recognised by the India and Asia Book of Records as India’s First EV to undertake this journey

Gurugram, November 27, 2025:JSW MG Motor India today announced an award-winning achievement as the MG Windsor completed the challenging journey from Leh to Kanyakumari, covering 3,757 kilometres in just 83 hrs and 43 mins. This marks the fastest time for an EV to cover this diverse route and has been recognized by the India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records.

The journey was undertaken by Mountain Goat (a Group of Passionate Motorsports Professionals) and covered a wide range of terrains. The Windsor traversed through Ladakh’s high-altitude, rugged, and arid landscape to the tropical southern coast with utmost ease, demonstrating MG Windsor's reliability, impressive range, and consistent performance under extreme conditions. MG Windsor took 20 charging stops, debunking myths around long journeys in an EV and showcasing India’s growing fast-charging infrastructure.

These charging points were discovered through the e-Hub by MG app, which served as a one-stop destination for all charging requirements. This app seamlessly connects users to over 13,000+ EV charging points across India through partnerships with 36 leading charge-point operators. This accomplishment aligns with the company’s ‘EV Sahi Hai’ campaign and signifies that EVs are the new normal on roads.

The car’s advanced 52.9 kWh lithium-ion battery delivers a certified range of up to 449 km per charge and supports fast charging, allowing efficient, well-planned stops across India’s expanding highway charging network. Recently, the MG Windsor set a new benchmark in the segment by crossing the 50,000 sales milestone in record time, the fastest ever for an EV in India.

Since its launch in September 2024, the MG Windsor has been India’s best-selling EV. It features a futuristic ‘AeroGlide’ design that transcends traditional segmentation. Inside, it offers business-class comfort with ‘Aero Lounge’ seats reclinable to 135 degrees, ensuring exceptional comfort. The large 15.6” GRANDVIEW Touch Display on the center console enhances the driving experience with intuitive control.

In May 2025, the company strengthened its portfolio by introducing the MG Windsor PRO variant, equipped with an extended battery pack.
